Sophie Jodoin Estudou Artes Visuais na Universidade Concordia, em Montreal. Ela teve várias exposições individuais e participou em exposições colectivas e feiras de arte no Canadá, Praga, Miami, Chicago, Nova York, Londres, San Francisco e Filadélfia. Suas obras podem ser encontradas em coleções particulares e públicas, tanto na América do Norte e na Europa. Ela vive e trabalha em Montreal.

Joy Orbison & Boddika

The collaboration from London based DJs/Producers, Boddika & Joy Orbison, promises the release of a new 12 inches dubplate miracle composed of two tracks titled Froth and Mercy later next february 21st on the label Sunklowun. You’ve probably already heard of this solid duo signing unprecedented glory with the alternate acid battery and stoccato cowbell techno-ish track: Swims out on the label Swamp81. The previews of these newly revealed tunes were posted on Boddika’s soundcloud page one day ago, giving us a taste of their efficient medecine and definitely setting innovative standards. With such new horizons, it’s the start of yet another exploration into the world of electronic music. Mercy is a very powerful track driven with an obnoxious heavy bassline beat. The lay out seems ridiculously repetive but in fact ever changing with different pieces of essential ingredients added on the way and making it the masterpiece you’ve always hoped for. Attention to detail is therefore a pre-requisite for that type of sound which will probably have strong appeal to techno orientated minds. The second track is Froth, there again keeping the trademark bassline you find in its dubplate soulmate but this time with more vocal samples underlying the classic Peter O’Grady touch. Although the tune has a more melodic allure, it still benefits from the signature punchy beat, not only energizing you but also revealing the collaboration’s strengh and harmony. Highly infectious and satisfying music by those two talented London artists. Make sure you clean your ears before you listen to this high level production because it most definitely needs the highest kind of regard. The rest is just a click away ! Ilha das Flores é um filme de curta-metragem brasileiro, do género documentário, escrito e dirigido pelo cineasta Jorge Furtado em 1989, com produção da Casa de Cinema de Porto Alegre. De forma ácida e com uma linguagem quase científica, o curta mostra como a economia gera relações desiguais entre os seres humanos. Ilha das Flores foi eleito pela crítica europeia como um dos 100 mais importantes curtas-metragens do século.

Monomood - Oktrosis

With the start of our new limited vinyl series, we are returning to our musical roots of the late 90s. We retrace Detroit Techno and simultaneously transfer Dub Techno into an up-to-date audio frame. As an artist Monomood is difficult to categorize. What is it? Techno? House? Drum and Bass? Or maybe Dubstep? What about a quantum Funk or Ambient? Well, actually, it’s always a bit of everything – but it’s always new and fresh. It is hard to find the leitmotif, and yet there is one: quality. After dwelling on the Drum and Bass station for a while, it is most accurate to say Monomood has taken off into the future: the wide cosmos of dubby Techno sounds. His vinyl debut on Etui Records, carries us into the complex world of echoed chords and spacy Delays. The title track “Oktrosis” illustrates the complexity of Monomoods art. The stabs and chords arranged with lots of echo indicate vicinity to Detroit Dub Techno without loosing the keen sense for the modern teutonic groove. His peculiar melancholy and dreamy harmonies already came into action in the track “Enhanced Variables” that has been released on the Etui Summer Camp 3 compilation. This particular work, available as A2 piece in a special vinyl version, ingeniously crosses the genres of summerly Deephouse and cool Dub Techno. “Monoskop”, the track on the B-side with its heavy groove and rough chord-loop, also mainly addresses the late summers’ dancefloors. Ken-Ichi Murata

Born in 1957 in the city of Osaka, Japan, photographer Ken-Ichi Murata still lives and works there.His art is a sensational new discovery.

The pretty Japanese girls in his hand-colored black-and-white photographs transport us into the erotic fantasy worlds of a Japanese artist who is inspired by thousand-year-old traditions and sexual rites.

Murata enchants us with nymph-like princesses and half-nude girls in kimonos. Here are stimulating role play and exotic charm in their purest form.

Murata began displaying his art photography at a public exhibition in Tokyo in 1996. It was a huge success and was the first glimpse the work got into the amazing dream world of this most amazing artist.
